Zoominfo is a great SaaS product.

I mean, if you think about it,  what could be better than having a massive data provider at the tip of your fingers?

All you need to do is type click a few keys on your keyboard and Voila! Contact information, and a full database of information about business people and companies.

Sounds good right? But wouldn’t it be better to use a product or hire a service that does all the work for you?

Well, we have an offer that might be hard to refuse. (Actually, it’s a no-brainer.)

But before we get into that, let’s delve a little deeper into Zoominfo. What it is, why sales teams use it for lead generation and how much it costs.

A little more on Zoominfo

Zoominfo is a SaaS platform that makes the lives of sales reps a little easier.

Why?

Because it’s basically a massive platform that provides business data with b2b contact information, (including phone numbers, direct dials, and business email addresses).

You can browse through a huge database of millions of people and find the information that you need to contact them.

And it’s as easy as typing in a name, the company, job title, and location. (See image below:)

Besides this, it also easily integrates with CRM tools, such as Salesforce.

Here is what some users had to say about this data platform

Zoominfo has a 4-star rating on Trust Radius, and there are many pros to using this platform.

But some of the biggest cons are the pricing, some data is old and out of date, and if you don’t filter the information correctly, you could end up with a huge list of people that aren’t super targeted.

Pros and Cons

  • Contact information of dedicated point of contacts
  • Detailed company information available on Company info
  • Current news on market trends and companies
  • ZoomInfo needs to update their database more frequently as a person who has been in a company for months does not show up on Zoominfo in that company rather the previous one
  • ZoomInfo should have some integration with Sales navigator so that dedicated person could be found out using their LinkedIn url
  • Often the numbers and email addresses fetched from ZoomInfo are not accurate so either they should upload correct data or should not upload at all

Zoominfo pricing… Is it REALLY worth the expense?

Zoominfo offers 3 pricing tiers. There is a free trial for those who would like to try it out before signing up.

According to AP news, the average cost that most customers spend on Zoominfo per year is $18,312.

AP news states the following according to their research:

That $18k+ figure is based on the $293,000,000, yes that is million, ZoomInfo / DiscoverOrg generated in revenue for 2019 (according to their IPO filing in 2020). And, dividing that $293M by the 16,000 global enterprise, mid-market companies, and small business customers ZoomInfo has.

This figure falls in line with recent sources stating they were quoted $15,000, $25,000, and $40,000 price ranges while on demo calls with ZoomInfo sales reps. Overall total cost depended on the annual plan, options, and how many user licence seats were”

We also checked out what other users had to say, and some people were quoted $44,000, $24,000, and $18,000 per year depending on which tier they chose.

With ZoomInfo, you will need to pay the entire amount upfront for the year, depending on which pricing plan you choose.

So if you think about it, most companies are paying on average $18 312 + per year on this platform to get more sales leads

This is a major expense; especially if you are a startup and don’t have the budget to splurge on such an expensive platform. Plus you will only get extra perks if you pay for the higher packages.

This does not include list building, personalization, or outreach campaigns.

Some of the best Zoominfo alternatives / Zoominfo competitors

If you are unsure about using Zoominfo there are other alternatives which we will go into greater detail in future articles.

But here are some which you can consider as well: (Before we dive into why Salesbread might be a better alternative to any B2B data platform)

  • Lusha
  • Linkedin Sales Navigator
  • Uplead
  • Leadfinder
  • D&B Hoovers
  • Leadfeeder
  • Clearbit
  • Insideview (This includes business information, social media data, contact database, and data for online news).

Why you should consider Salesbread as the Zoominfo Alternative

Salesbread is a much more affordable choice. Plus we offer so much more.

Instead of paying $18 000 a year upfront just for data points, why not partner up with Salesbread to get more leads in your sales pipeline

Salesbread already uses and pays for only the best contact data tools such as Zoominfo.

(In fact, we use Zoominfo and other tools) Which means you do not need to pay for the service. This in turn saves you the added expense of paying for things like Zoominfo and Linkedin Sales Navigator

We will not lock you into a contract, and there is no need to pay a year in advance.

We will gladly integrate with any CRM tool that you are using.

All of this for much less, with no yearly upfront payment. In your opinion which would be the better value for money option?

Side note: When is it a bad idea to hire an outbound agency?

The only time hiring an outbound agency is a bad idea is if you already have a large sales team who does outreach for you, and your company is already equipped for outreach.

But if you have a small sales team and don’t know where to start, or who will do personalization; you need Salesbread.

If you don’t know exactly how to use Zoominfo; You need Salesbread.

If you don’t have a proven outreach playbook that brings you 1 lead per day; You need Salesbread, instead of forking out a whole lot of money on Zoominfo.

In many cases, it’s a lot more profitable to work along with Salesbread, even if it’s just for a few months.  Let us fine-tune, test, and optimize your outreach efforts. And then, we will teach you to do it all in-house, so you can save some money.
