What is lead generation?

B2B lead generation is like finding new friends for businesses. Imagine a company looking for other businesses that might be interested in their products or services.

Lead generation is the process of identifying and connecting with these potential business friends.

It involves researching and reaching out to other companies that could benefit from what your business has to offer.

Just like making friends, it’s about discovering mutual interests and seeing if there’s a good match. The goal is to start a conversation and build a relationship, ultimately turning these potential business friends into customers.

What are b2b lead generation tools, and why are they helpful?

B2B lead generation tools act as problem solvers for businesses facing challenges in finding and connecting with potential customers

One common pain point is the difficulty of identifying businesses interested in a particular product or service.

Lead generation tools streamline this process by providing insights and data, helping companies target their ideal audiences.

Additionally, these tools address the challenge of managing large sets of information, making it easier to organize and track potential leads

Automation features within these tools help save time and effort, allowing businesses to focus on building relationships rather than getting bogged down in manual tasks.

Ultimately, B2B lead generation tools play a crucial role in alleviating the pains associated with the search for new business connections, making the process more efficient and productive.

Our sales process manages to bring our clients 1 qualified sales lead per day. And in the past 24 months, we have generated close to 7000 qualified sales leads for our clients.

These are really some of the best tools on the market and have been a total game changer for our company and our clients.

Web scraping tools

DataMiner and Apify

Data Miner and Apify are our go-to tools for web scraping specific lists that aren’t going to be easily found on something like Zoominfo, Apollo or Crunchbase.

A good example is if you wanted to Shopify Plus certified Partners.

There might be over 100 certified partners, and we will use the above web scraping tools to grab these companies, in order to find them on Linkedin Sales Navigator

The nice thing is that these web scrapers allow us to move quickly when we build prospecting lists; We don’t need to wait for a developer to help us.

But of course, for tougher projects a developer is absolutely worth having on deck.

Chat GPT

We use Chat GPT for building prospecting lists.  Most people might use it for writing outreach messages, but these messages come across as robotic and lack personalization.

This is why we would rather use it to help us build in-depth lists of our client’s target audiences

We use a Google Sheet add-on called  GPT for Sheets and Docs.

It does the following:

We use this tool in our lead generation efforts to enhance prospecting lists we’re constructing, by filling in details that tools such as Apollo, Zoominfo, and Crunchbase might lack.

Consider this scenario:

Suppose you’re running a campaign targeting B2B companies.

Unfortunately, relying solely on Zoominfo to accurately identify B2B companies can be a challenge.

While it does offer some functionality in this regard, experience tells us it’s not consistently 100% accurate.

Historically, ensuring accuracy meant dedicating a team member to comb through and verify the data manually.

Which as you can imagine takes time.

Now, with Chat GPT for sales, you can use it as a second set of eyes for your list.

How does it work?

Ask a question to the chat feature like: “Are these companies B2B? Respond with a one-word answer, yes or no.”

Apply this process across your entire sheet, and suddenly, you’ve effectively eliminated like 15% of incorrect accounts from your prospecting lists.

This article: How to Use Chat GPT For Sales goes into more detail on how we use chat GTP to help us build lists of qualified leads

Chat GPT has a free plan, but they also offer a subscription of about $20 per month for Chat GPT Plus.

Conversational Abilities:

ChatGPT is adept at engaging in coherent conversations. It understands context, allowing users to have more natural interactions.

Contextual Understanding:

The model can comprehend and respond to user inputs in a way that takes into account the context of the conversation, making the interactions more coherent.

Content Generation:

ChatGPT can generate contextually appropriate text across a variety of topics. This makes it useful for content creation, brainstorming, and idea generation.

Code Generation:

Users can request code snippets for various programming languages, making ChatGPT a helpful tool for software developers and those seeking assistance with coding tasks.

Language Translation:

ChatGPT can assist with language translation, making it useful for users who need help converting text from one language to another.

Question Answering:

The model is pretty accurate at answering factual questions.

It’s important to note that while ChatGPT may work really well in many language-related tasks, it may not always produce accurate or contextually precise responses.

Chat GPT has received 4.7 stars out of 5 according to G2.com.

Other helpful lead-generation tools

This tool helps us combine prospect sheets across different sources without copying and pasting them. This just makes our prospecting process easier.

Google Sheets formula “VLookUp.”

VLookUp, allows you to merge sheets and helps us combine our data really nicely.

Basically, if you have two sheets, and one sheet has all the scraped data on Shopify preferred partners; And there is a rating on the Shopify page and all this data is in one sheet, and it says

“Company XYZ has a 4.9 rating on Shopify Plus directory.”

You would then find the marketing person of Company XYZ on LinkedIn Sales Navigator

Now you have two sheets.

One with the company details, and another from your LinkedIn Sales Nav export.

You need to sometimes carry over “rating”, so that you can mention it in your campaign on Linkedin.

We use this formula “VLookUp” to merge those extra data points across different spreadsheets into one.

The video below explains how to use this formula: https://www.microsoft.com/

In Conclusion

Whether you’re using these tools for inbound or outbound lead generation, they can come in handy.

Some are pricier than others, but most have excellent reviews, and from personal experience, we can testify to some of the above tools.

(If you’re not happy with the leads your sales reps are bringing in, why not hop on a free 15-minute strategy call with Salesbread? We would love to show you our process for booking one qualified lead per day and help you bring the strategy in-house.)
